Duty

When someone offers to give you more responsibility, say yes.

There is a duty to say yes, but to understand it, try to find reasons for why one would say no.

Maybe there is doubt. Maybe there is a lack of desire to take on more accountability. Maybe there exists a comfort level that one doesn't want to move away from.

Whatever the reason, it's easy to understand that they all come down to denying one's duty.

Some examples would be a promotion from part-time to full-time, from employee to manager, or from floor nurse to charge nurse.

If there are reservations about accepting the responsibility, look deep inside and ask why. If it helps, consider that one's old position has been terminated, the only options remaining are to move up or lose everything.

Life isn't about coasting comfortably through daily tasks.
