Jokes on Me
When I was 16, I used to do standup comedy. During the past 2 days of my 100 day challenge, something I have been doing must have awoken that side of me again.
I found myself writing jokes for the first time in about 5 years. The style of these new jokes is different than they used to be, which is a good sign that I've matured in my writing over the years despite having not practiced.
It's entirely possible that I may do another open mic soon. Comedy was fulfilling in a way that is hard to come close to. I stopped because writing and performing takes up a lot of time, and I have other things I want to do that fit better together.
Anyways, I may find other ways to fit comedic writing into my projects, but I think if I go that direction I'll have to do some standup. There's no comparison to performing and testing material live. It's one of the best feedback loops in existence.
